"Yard Squirrel Christmas" is a song written by Gustavo Rocqué in Big Time Rush. Before the release of Big Time Rush's first single, "Yard Squirrel Christmas" was the only hit song Gustavo had written without the word "girl" in it, as seen in "Big Time Audition".
In "Big Time Christmas", it is revealed that Gustavo wrote "Yard Squirrel Christmas" in only five minutes, and despite this, it is his best-selling single to date, having sold over one million copies. When pressed for time to record their Christmas EP, BTR performs a music video with Snoop Dogg inspired by the Yard Squirrels, called "Let's Stay in Our PJ's (All Christmas Long).
In real life, the song is a parody of Alvin and the Chipmunks.
