"My Song for You" is an unreleased song recorded by Carlos PenaVega, for Big Time Rush. PenaVega wrote the song with Jimmy Burney and Dave Bassett, during sessions for the band's third album, 24/seven, in November 2012.[1][2] The demo from the session, recorded by PenaVega and Burney, was leaked online in April 2013.

Background[]

Big Time Rush recorded over 75 songs for their third album, 24/seven, at least 50 of which they co-wrote themselves.[3] The bulk of the sessions took place between November and December 2012, when the band "flew in" many songwriters and producers, many of which they had collaborated with on previous albums.[4][5] On November 29, 2012, Carlos PenaVega wrote and recorded "My Song for You" with songwriter Dave Bassett and producer Jimmy Burney.[2] The demo features vocals by both PenaVega and Burney.[6]

Lyrics[]

These are all my words on paper
Feelings that can't wait 'til later
This is my song for you
When I thought love was hiding
You helped me break the silence
Here's my song for you
And I know, we're standing in a hurricane
But I know, together we can find a way
Don't let go
Come close
Can you hear my heart?

For you, I've fallen
Deep, I'm lost in–
You have found what I've been missing
No one else can fill this space
'Cause no one else can take your place
For you, I've fallen
This is my song for you
This is my song

For every dream unwoken
For every word unspoken
This is my song for you
And I know, we're standing in a hurricane
But I know, together we can find a way
Don't let go, come close
Can you hear my heart?

For you, I've fallen
Deep, I'm lost in–
You have found what I've been missing
No one else can fill this space
'Cause no one else can take your place
For you, I've fallen
This is my song for you, you, you, you
You, you, you, you
For you, you, you, you
You, you, you, you

These are all my words on paper
Feelings that can't wait 'til later
This is my song for you
