"Halfway There" is a song performed by Big Time Rush. It was released for digital download as the band's third promotional single on April 27, 2010.[2] initially released as a standalone single and later included on their first studio album, BTR. An official music video was released after the premiere of the Big Time Rush episode "Big Time Jobs".
There are two versions of the song. The single version has Kendall Schmidt's verse first and James Maslow's verse second, while the album version switches them, in addition to minor differences in mixing. Throughout the show, the instrumental is played as score in the background.
Background
"Halfway There" was written and produced by Eric Sanicola, a music producer and songwriter from Rockville Center, NY. Big Time Rush's vocals were recorded by engineer Rob Chiarelli at Westlake Studio C in Los Angeles, California, and were then sent back to Sanicola for programming and production.[1][3]
"Halfway There" was first featured in Big Time Rush in the first season episode "Big Time Demos", and later also in the episode "Big Time Jobs".
The song was digitally released as Big Time Rush's third promotional single, following "Big Time Rush" and "Any Kind of Guy", on April 27, 2010. It was subsequently included on the Best of Season 1, and a slightly remixed version became the sixth track on the band's first studio album, BTR. The song has since been included on the Greatest Hits, L'Intégrale, and Ultimate Fan Edition compilations.
Music video
A music video was released in 2010, around the release of "Big Time Demos". It combines footage of BTR walking together in an alley near a brick wall with behind-the-scenes footage from the shooting of "Big Time Demos".
The video was directed by Petro, who would later also direct BTR's "City Is Ours" music video.[4]
