"24/Seven", originally stylized as simply '"24/7", is the first song and title track on Big Time Rush's third studio album, 24/seven. Kendall Schmidt and Logan Henderson co-wrote the song with Orange Factory Music writers Jeremy Skaller, Jamil "Digi" Chammas, Justin Lucas, and Ameerah Roelants, as well as producer Damon Sharpe.

The song serves as the lead and only single from 24/seven, barring promotional Nickelodeon music videos for "Like Nobody's Around" and "Confetti Falling". A music video was released on June 19, 2013, and the song is also featured in the fourth season episode "Big Time Bonus" of Big Time Rush.

Background[]

"24/seven" was written by Damon Sharpe, Jeremy Skaller, Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, Jamil "Digi" Chammas, Justin Lucas, and Ammerah Roelants, and produced by Orange Factory Music. Henderson has described it as a "fun" song with "an 80's vibe".[2]

According to James Maslow, "24/seven" was chosen to be the album's title track because its whole message "really encompassed that of the album," that of "living life to its fullest and really just, having fun."[2]

The song is featured in the music video portion of the episode "Big Time Bonus".

Lyrics[]

[Verse 1: Kendall]
I can feel it in the air
I like the truth but love the dare
Living life like it's a vacation
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

[Carlos]
We are golden like the sun
Never never land
We all stay young
Cause we're the here and now generation

[Pre-Chorus: All]
Try and knock us down
We'll get up every time
We can run this town
So let's do what we like
Do what we like

[Chorus: All]
All day, every day is a holiday
We're alright, 24/seven
All day, every day all we gotta say is live your life
24/seven

[Post-Chorus: All]
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
24/Seven
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
24/Seven
[Verse 2: Logan]
We got no one to impress
Looking fly no matter how we dress
Staying up forever cause there is no end
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

[Carlos:]
It doesn't matter where you're from
We're all together here as one
Tomorrow comes
We'll do it all again
Yeah

[Pre-Chorus: All]
Try and knock us down
We'll get up every time
We can run this town
So let's do what we like
Do what we like

[Chorus: All]
All day, every day is a holiday
We're alright, 24/seven
All day, every day all we gotta say is live your life
24/seven
All day, every day is a holiday
We're alright, 24/seven
All day, every day everybody say live your life

We're alright, 24/seven
All day, every day all we gotta say is live your life

Trivia[]

  • Two demo recordings of the song, both featuring vocals from only Schmidt and Henderson, were unofficially leaked online in 2013. The earlier demo has noticeably simple production and ends after the second chorus, while the later demo is a recording of the full song, with production that sounds closer to the final release.
